200 Popular Baby Names of the 1990s

Last Updated on 06/07/2024 by Nell Marie

I heard somebody the other day mention that 1995 was vintage and I could hardly believe my ears. I was a teen in the 90’s and I guess I don’t feel “that old” but 1995 was 30+ years ago so – I suppose they’re right! Wow.

And as you know, vintage and old-fashioned names are all the rage this year – and while many people are choosing names that were popular back in the 20s and 30s, the 90s are a great decade so I can see why you may be interested in naming your child from that decade!

In this article, we’re going to look at the top 50 girl and boy names of 1992 (for whatever reason I couldn’t pull up the results for 90 and 91.) and 50 girl and boy names of 1999.

Ready, let’s dive into the “vintage” names of the 90s!

Final Thoughts: 1990s Names

Choosing a 1990s inspired name for your baby can be a nostalgic and meaningful decision, bridging the gap between past and present generations.

These names often carry a sense of familiarity and cultural resonance, evoking memories of a vibrant era.

Whether it’s a classic name that stood the test of time or a more unique gem from the decade, the choice reflects personal taste and a connection to the cultural zeitgeist of the 1990s.

What’s old is new again and apparently, the 90s are now vintage!
