There’s something so fun about diving into spring crafts with little ones! I love how simple materials can turn into something bright, colorful, and full of creativity. Making flowers, butterflies, and little bugs is a great way for preschoolers to explore textures, colors, and shapes.

Flower Stamps
One of my go-to crafts is flower stamping. I use cut-up sponges or even a potato half to create flower shapes. Simply dip the sponges or potatoes in paint and stamp them onto paper to create a quick and easy spring garden. The kids can experiment with different colors, and they love making their own flowers!
Butterfly Paper Plates
Butterflies are a classic symbol of spring, and they’re so fun to make! I start with a paper plate, which the kids can color and decorate however they like. Then, I cut the plate in half and attached pipe cleaners to make the butterfly’s antennae. The result is a cute, colorful butterfly that they can proudly wear or hang up as a decoration.
Bird Nest Craft
A bird’s nest is such a fun, simple project. I use brown paper or shredded paper to form the base of the nest, and then the kids can add little foam or pom-pom eggs. It’s a great way to teach kids about how birds build their nests, and they’ll love adding their own “eggs” inside!
Spring Flower Crowns
Who doesn’t love a flower crown? I cut strips of floral paper or use flower stickers, and we make crowns to wear. The kids get to decorate their crowns with all sorts of fun flowers. It’s a great craft for a spring dress-up day or just a fun afternoon activity.
Painted Rock Bugs

To celebrate those sunny spring days, we make paper plate suns! I start by cutting the center out of a paper plate, and the kids get to color the rim with yellow, orange, or whatever colors they want to use. Recycling is always a fun way to teach kids about being resourceful. I collect pinecones from outside, and we paint them to turn them into flowers. Once the paint dries, we glue them onto construction paper to make stems and leaves. It’s a great way to create something beautiful with nature!
Tissue Paper Flowers
Tissue paper flowers are an easy, fun craft, and they’re perfect for little hands. I cut the tissue paper into squares, and the kids scrunch them in the middle to create the flower’s petals. Then, we use pipe cleaners for the stems. These bright, fluffy flowers are sure to brighten up any room!
Ladybug Handprint Art
