DIY Love Notes for Kids
Making note notes for kids is pretty easy, really.
You just need a few materials, some sweet words to say, and the time to write it out and place it in a lunch box, on their pillow, or maybe on their mirror.
To make it an easy process, I’m breaking down the steps below.
1- Grab Paper or Sticky Notes
Once you have your special messages ready, grab slips of paper, sticky notes, and brightly colored pens or markers, and write out your special messages to your little ones.
I love these sticky notes, as there are many different colors to pick from. They are bright and happy and the perfect size.

2- Grab These Love Notes Prompts
Use the following prompts as inspiration. Simply fill in the blanks to make it personal.

3- Where to Leave the Notes
In their lunchbox: Slip a note inside their lunchbox or lunch bag. It’s a lovely surprise for them to discover during lunchtime.
On their pillow: Place the note on their pillow before they go to bed. It’s a sweet way to end their day on a positive note and start the next one with love.
Inside their backpack: Tuck the note into a pocket or a compartment in their backpack. They’ll find it when they’re getting ready for school or an outing.
On the bathroom mirror: Use a dry erase marker or a sticky note to leave a message on the bathroom mirror. They’ll see it first thing in the morning or before bedtime.
Under their bedroom door: Slide the note under their bedroom door for them to find when they wake up or come home.
In their favorite book: Place the note inside the pages of their favorite book. It’s a delightful surprise when they open it to read.
On the fridge: Stick the note on the refrigerator door with a magnet. It’s a prominent spot where they’re sure to see it multiple times a day.
In their coat pocket: Slip the note into their coat pocket before they head out. They’ll find it when they put on their coat later.
On their desk or study area: Place the note on their desk or study area where they do homework or creative activities.
In their room: Simply leave the note on their bedside table or any spot where they often spend time in their room.
4- When to Leave a Love Note
Before a big event: Offer encouragement and support before a school presentation, sports game, or any other significant event in their life.
On their birthday: Take the opportunity to celebrate their special day with a heartfelt message that reflects on their growth and the joy they bring to your life.
After a challenging day: Lift their spirits after a tough day at school or during a difficult time by reminding them of your love and resilience.
Randomly, just because: Surprise them with a love note on any ordinary day to show that you’re thinking of them and that they’re always in your heart.
During milestones: Whether it’s the first day of school, a graduation, or any other milestone moment, mark the occasion with a note that reflects on their achievements and the journey ahead.
On holidays: Use holidays like Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, or any other family celebration as an opportunity to express your love through a thoughtful note.
Before bedtime: Create a comforting bedtime routine by ending the day with a note that assures them of your love and fills them with warmth as they drift off to sleep.

You can keep the affirmations as they are or change it to “You are loved” “You are capable” ” You are unique” etc.
